Shine on The Lady by Keithspangle Shine on The Lady by Keithspangle
A detail from the piece called The Lady showing the light reflecting off the metal leaf. For a sense of scale, her face is one and a quarter inches wide.

This is really neat, it looks like Russian or Ethiopian iconography.  Inspiration?

Most of the ornamentation is Arabian...added to some Byzantine(and therefore, Russian) sources.  I am not all that familiar with Ethiopian work...I will have to check it out!:)

Great job!
Where is this from? or did you just draw it?

I drew it up real carefully on graph paper, then transferred it to the clayboard on the first layer of metal leaf. I just invented the face: I want to use real faces for the next ones.
